Amanda Alfery

(Outpatient Occupational Therapist)

Hi! I’m Amanda, and I am thrilled to be a part of the PediPlay family since February 2023. Having grown up with a cousin with Down Syndrome and seeing the impact of therapy services had on his learning and wellness, I have long been in love with the field of pediatric OT. I earned my Masters of Occupational Therapy at Xavier University in 2018 and spent the first few years of my career serving at an autism center for children ages 2-16 in the Greater Detroit area. In addition to working with children with autism, I have experience with a variety of diagnoses including sensory processing disorders, sensory feeding concerns, developmental delays, fine motor and gross motor coordination, ADHD, and executive functioning concerns both as a clinician and in-home caregiver. I am also an early intervention provider through the First Steps program. I am passionate not only about helping children gain new skills and independence, but the self-confidence and fulfillment needed to lead happy, full lives in their homes and communities. I believe wholeheartedly in a whole-family approach in which parents feel heard, valued, and included, such that the skills which their children learn in therapy can be carried over through the rest of their routines and day-to-day activities. I look forward to working with your family!
